I’m sure I learnt all that at school but I’d forgotten most of it so I looked it all up. The Hibiscus is a bit unusual in having the male and female bits attached to that long central thing… the name of which escapes me.
Thank you, LFZ, for the compliment and also for alerting me to my mistake… I had somehow added and deleted a few characters to the code – fairly easy to do with a thumb on my tiny phone screen.
Still, I usually view the post before finalising and this time I didn’t…
I think the image may have originally been censored, as it is such a graphic portrayal of naked sexual organs, but it is up in all its glory now. Whew!
i have to admit, i do miss something here…
It’s the reproductive organs of a Hibiscus. The bobbles at the top are female (stigmas); the smaller yellow ones are male (anthers).
I’m always learning things here, S.E…
and with such beautiful illustrations, too!

Ok, but they don’t show, neither on my computer nor on my mobile… Strange.
What, no image at all?
That’s very strange!
Yes, same here – nothing except the title.
My mistake. Apologies. I think it’s fixed now.
Wow, I’m glad you fixed it! That’s great.
Thank you, Richard.
now it’s there
a very nice capture.

you’re very welcome… maybe i’ll be a bit more explicit next time
Ha ha! Don’t be surprised if it does happen again.
Genderless rough wall
Backdrop to lover’s tryst
Who meets at the corners ?
I don’t know.
Sexy.

Andrew, do you mean to say you are lusting after a Hibiscus? Oh well, no more strange than any other fetish I’ve heard of.
“50 Shades of Hibiscus”… my new book?
Bound to be a best-seller, Andrew.
Ashley look at what you have started. Now someone else is “petalling” smut.
It’s a sad world.
Fascinating image. Love what you done with gradation.
Thanks, John.
Yes, filaments – I like that word for this.
The filaments are the skinny little things that support the anthers.
