Matango,or Fungus of Terror /Attack of the Mushroom People, is a 1963 Japanese tokusatsu movie. It was inspired by “The Voice in the Night”, a short story by William Hope Hodgson, first published in the November 1907 edition of Blue Book Magazine (England).

It’s funny how much it looks like it’s returned to being a thing of nature…
really does look organic… like some kind of mushroom to me, too…
I liked the ‘return’ to nature thing about it too, Robert.
I agree, the first thing I thought was it looks like the underside of a fungus. Very cool.
It reminds me of mushroom gills too.
