Hello Mathias, thank you for your comment. I’m finding these hand images more and more interesting as I go along.
Hmmm. Actually it’s the hands themselves that I’m finding more interesting. 🙂
Yes Ashley, a hand itself tell stories and pose questions; can be very interesting! The drawing adds something composition-wise, symbolically and perhaps to the narrative; or puts the hand in an incomprehensible context. Interesting in other ways. I made a little connection with Roger Ballen’s pictures, often including drawings, if you have seen them?
I just looked up Roger Ballen. I see he worked with Die Antwoord, on some videos of which I was aware, including this one:
I like his work very much, thank you for drawing my attention to him. I’d only ever seen the clip without the information at the start. 🙂
I shall have to show my nephew, Mali, your comment. 🙂
I love it – is that your drawing?
No, Mali’s, on his bedroom wall. 🙂
That poor dinosaur needs some fingers
What for?
I can tell that Mali is of a somewhat nervous disposition, but not overly so.
I can also tell left hands from right hands without your labels (unless some mirror trickery or unusual mutations are involved)
And I can tell you’re a genius.
Sensitive and gentle, he is. 🙂
Fantastic use of contrast in this one.
Thank you and welcome. I’m glad you said that because I just replaced the original because it was too flat. 🙂
Great series Ashley.
Happy New Year. 🙂
Thank you, Joseph and all good wishes to you for all time. 🙂
Very interesting!
