Hi Alan, nice to see you here. I’m really glad that you like it:
“I see, I hear things. We all do. And sometimes we are reluctant to share. Other days we can’t stop ourselves.”
That bit of you has been running through my head a lot lately. It certainly describes me. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed, hence my withdrawal from things, including visiting blogs, answering comments, answering emails and stepping outside my door. I’m pleased with this self portrait because I think it tells that.

There are days and there are days… I recognize myself quite a lot in this feeling. This is both powerful and strong. I believe that we all become stronger in our weakest moments, that’s why these moments exist…

One of the things that irks me about what other people say about introverts is that we are anti-social. I’m not anti-social, I’m just not very sociable, which is not the same thing by far. Have you read that book called “Quiet”? The author’s name escapes me.

I just hunted down my copy. The author is Susan Cain. I remember being a bit disappointed in it though I can’t remember why. Nevertheless it’s good to have someone champion the cause. My friend, also introverted, said that it would be good for extroverts to read and I agreed, but well, I guess they mostly wouldn’t be terribly interested.

Sometimes the world is too much with us – it intrudes on our space, demanding our calm , paying us back in anxious agitation of the soul.

Take care – your creative spirit & vision is much needed to counter the cacophony of selfie consumption. 🙂

My son Alex made an interesting observation. While extroverts become energized by interaction with groups and social activity, introverts tend to expend energy in the same types of interaction & social activity. Of course there is a continuum and different people will be more or less energized or more or less drained, but it is this difference in responses that can create confusion/breakdown in communication between individuals.

Those who are more introverted can party till they drop, we just drop sooner than our extrovert friends. 😀
