Do the sputniks come from sweet gum trees? Because if they do, we have them, too – they line the athletic fields at the high school across the street and we have one in our backyard, too (I have wondered if the owners of our house in 1958 or so stole a tree from the ones being planted across the street at the same time, when the school was also being built, but – I don’t know…) anyway – we have them too, only – our sputniks are dried and brown because they are in the opposite season from yours. Somehow that is really doing something to my head.

What do you think?
