Oh my goodness, that is amazing to me. I don’t possess a modern phone with a good internal camera, just an old Nokia, and am currently researching cameras as I’d like to do a little photography. I keep reading that most compact cameras are no better than good phones, but had no idea they could produce results so good. I think I shall still go for a separate camera though, as I like the idea of interchangeable lenses for, particularly, macro shots. It’s really playing with depth of field, blurring images – or so-called ‘Bokeh’ effect – that interests me. Thanks, Ashley. 🙂
I enjoy having a smart phone very much. I have a contract that I can upgrade every two years and it comes with a ‘free’ phone. I wouldn’t be able to afford one otherwise. 🙂
It does, of course, have limitations, so I understand why you would prefer a ‘real’ camera. One of the things I like about using my phone is that it fits in my pocket and is unobtrusive. 🙂
Oh yes, being able to slip the camera into a pocket is something I want also Ashley, so am going for the older model Canon EOS-M fitted with a 22mm Pancake Lens – there are a handful left here in England at c. £200 now, down from a launch price in 2012 of £770. The 22mm lens alone would cost £220 so that bundle is something of a bargain currently. 🙂 It’s the slimmer of the two lenses you see in the picture here, and that also shows the small size of the camera body:
