I love the Sixties and Seventies too. Seems like (might be imagining) those times were more ‘real’ – beautiful patterns on that lovely dog, the fur makes me want to bury my head and sneeze. Something magnificent in the patterns of animals, almost like owl feathers. You always bring out lovely thoughts with your pictures and words.

I was a child in the sixties; I think it probably has something to do with that. Also I was still in England. Could have something to do with that too. I really like the music from that period as well, though. The Seventies I’m not very fond of.

Well in terms of ideology the 70s was the time of excess and selfishness and it shows even in the fun of the pop music without the depth of the 60s so I know what you mean and that led to the austerity but also extreme of the 80s so I think you’re right, the 60s was probably the purer of the decades. I like both but I am of course drawn to the simple beauty of some of the 60s songs because they really hammer home truths. Dory Previn and people like her, actually lived it. I forgot you live in Australia now? Thanks for writing back and thanks for existing, I’m glad to know you wherever you are.

What do you think?
