Between Scarlett and Guest (My Side of the Story 14th July – 19th November 2016)
Richard Guest and I have a blog called Between Scarlett and Guest.
It’s a conversation in images.
We each reply to the last image the other has posted.
What follows (in no particular order because I’ve set the gallery to a random display) are my responses from 14th July – 19th November 2016.

Love the sequence & the continuing conversation. 🙂
Thank you, Joseph. I’m glad I ‘ve caught up because it was very time consuming sorting out the dates. The next one I’ll be able to do in a jiffy. 🙂
When I tried to upload this last gallery I ran out of the 3 GB allotment of space on a free WordPress blog. So yesterday I went through ALL my media files and deleted about 1 GB. It was kind of fun. 🙂
So the images you use in your replies, are not necessarily ones you have made yourself?
No, they’re all my images. Why did you think not, Katherine?
There was just so much variety in approach and style. You have an extraordinary capacity to see the world through so many different lenses, Ashley. I guess I’m not used to see so much rampant creativity in one person. Many artists find a style and stick with it throughout many years, sometimes whole careers. I hope I didn’t offend you!
No no, I wasn’t offended, just puzzled. 🙂 And that’s a very kind compliment you’ve given me there.
I think sticking with one thing, developing a certain style, is what one’s ‘supposed to do’ if a career is to be. I think I have a few streams, for want of a better word, within my repertoire, but if I had to just do one thing over and over I’d be so bored!
Yes, and some of those artists, not all, produce boring work by following one path their whole lives. Doesn’t stop them selling loads, which I guess is what drives that career trajectory.
I guess the magic formula is to have a recognisable style with enough change and development to keep it fresh.
I sure would like to sell some of my stuff, though. 😀
Was it my reply to Joseph that made you think that? By ‘media files’ I just mean my images stored on my blog. I had previously, over time, deleted many posts but not the image files attached to them, so I went through and deleted them too. And then some more. 🙂
This is a more meaningful conversation than most people have. I especially like the hands.
That’s a lovely comment, Ken. Thank you. 🙂
I’m so glad I’ve discovered this brilliant dialogue! I’ll be looking forward to eavesdropping in and following along 🙂
Cheers
So glad you like it. Thank you. Have you visited Richard’s main blog yet?

These are fascinating all ‘stacked up’ together. So good!
Thank you, Karen. I enjoy this collaboration with Richard so much.
Wicked! And thanks for the mention!
