I needn’t have worried. I didn’t fall in the shower. I slipped on the wet kitchen floor (I’d just knocked over Bella’s water bowl) as I was trying to put a 5kg bag of rice in the top kitchen cupboard. I landed bang smack on my right knee and broke the patella. Hi ho. It’s not too bad. I can put weight on it but have to keep it straight so I have a fabric brace on my leg. It’s a bit sore today because, in the night, it slipped right down my leg.

My aunt who is 50 fell in the shower, my shower, and I was horrified. She was sore but ok. All that yoga saved her. Take care x

Oh, sorry, Ashley, that you hurt yourself. Please take care. You can get a handle bar for the shower. I poopooed it when my husband put one in but now I have to use it. Hope you heal quickly. xxellen

I’m having trouble figuring out whether your fabric brace slipped down your leg or if it was your patella. I hope not the latter! I’m recuperating from hip replacement surgery, so we can be sore together. 😯
I thought she was indicating that the fabric brace was sore that it lost the race with the patella. Mind you, my brain is fuzzy, at first I read Ashley’s account and momentarily thought she broke her spatula.

Hahaha! I’m ok, Joseph, I can hobble about at home so I can feed Bella and myself and I have angels at the ready if it gets to be too much for me. I like to be independent but I’m quite willing to have help if need be. Today I’ve just been resting.
Yeah, end of the month I get the VVR (sic) thing. I expect it will be a very low quality one as it was offered as a sweetener in the deal. ☺

It’s not too bad, Ashley. The surgery was two weeks ago and I’m optimistic that eventually I’ll be able to go for long walks again – something I’ve really been missing.

OMG. I know this too well. Due to my husband’s severed quad tendon. OMG. I am feeling for you. Will you need surgery?
I told you before that I’m always falling over, I think. No surgery required thank goodness. I only broke the patella. How is your husband now?
Yes, I second that thank goodness. !!! My husband was allowed to stop wearing the brace just yesterday. He still has months of therapy and regaining strength. Recovery takes a year. But he is walking pretty well now. I’ll be thinking of you 😻
