    It’s interesting how with many abstracts we’re looking for parallels in our material world, as some of the comments above make clear. With me, for instance, I immediately thought of those trompe-l’oeil skyscapes that Mannerist painters depicted on ceilings and interiors of domes, usually with putti and Greek goddesses wafting around. But that’s human nature, we can only think in the metaphors of our own experiences.
